Hello, Shekoli, my name is Amanda Kennedy I am from the Oneida Nation of the Thames, I am bear clan
and I spent my youth in both London, ON and Toronto, ON. I have a strong connection to my First
Nations communities especially with the children and youth. I am the Founder and Owner of Yotuni
which is a First Nation owned and grass roots business. Yotuni in the Oneida language means, “its
growing”. I strongly believe our children and youth need more support and programming based on their
Culture/Traditional ways, mental health, education on the effects of Residential schooling on their
generation, and physical activity. I have created Yotuni to help children, youth, their families, and their
communities to reconnect to their grass roots and original ways.I know the struggles of the people for I have done outreach and social for over 20 years in the low income communities. Starting with an initiative I have networked and built on partnerships with other organizations in both London, ON and Toronto, ON, and know a lot about their services and programs. I started the planning and development of the ^Yesalihu’ni Youth Leadership and Community Development Initiative in May 2013. I have strong relations with the children and youth and I have been
working with various children and youth throughout the First Nations, London and Toronto
Communities. The goal for my team and I, is to empower the children and youth and help them on their
healing journey and to grow strong; Spiritually, physically, mentally and emotionally, empowering
change!
Your donation is very much appreciated and will help provide programs and services to the at-risk
children and youth, bridging gaps and building strong communities.
